Interview with an Author - Alex Micati
Tell me a little about yourself personally.
I was born during a storm, eons ago. Then, I grew next to the walls and had no friends, real or fictitious. I always was (and still am) a selective sharp tool, in the sense that if I like something, I’ll learn all the way. If I don’t, well…..
What is the name of the book or books you have published?
I wrote “Capital Murders”, and published it in June of this year, as an indie author.
Where can they be found?
It can be found on Amazon and I suspect on pirate sites. (end rant….)
Do you have any current WIPs?
I do. Working title is “Miracle”. It is therefore my miracle WIP. (hold for laughs….).
How are they going?
It’s going well. I just finished the outline, but I may change it all, at one point.
What got you into writing?
Twas the lovely baker’s daughter that got me into writing. I foolishly thought I’d be able to seduce her, despite my meek physique. (Seriously, I was bored, angry and in high school. That is why I took the pen. It is, after all, mightier than the sword.)
What keeps you focused?
Knowing that if I drop the pen, decayed stars with empty stories will fill the shelves with their mundane lives. What a bunch of doofuses!
What gives you inspiration?
I get inspired by the news. I got a small passion for cold cases. Although, shouldn’t we give them some NyQuil, so that they don’t catch a cold case?
How do you battle writers block?
M’dear, writer’s block is like the behemoth you cannot fight. You let it embrace you and you wait for it to go, afterwards.
Did you decide on traditional or self publishing?
From day 1, I knew I was going to be an indie author. How naive of me!
What made you make that choice?
I chose the indie route, because I wanted to have the ultimate control on every aspect of the process.
How does it feel to be considered an author?
I still can’t believe I’m one. For now, I’m just a guy who happened to have put a few words together and who’s hoping they’d make sense…..and dollars.
What’s your social media platforms for people to find you?
I’m on Twitter (@Alex_Micati) and on Tinder. I also got linked in that other professional platform.
Thank you for doing this interview, Alex! And thank you readers for reading it! I hope this was as enjoyable for you all as it was for me!
