Interview with an Author - Chad Descoteaux
Tell me a little about yourself, personally.
My name is Chad Descoteaux. I'm the CEO and sole employee of Turtle Rocket Books. I write sci-fi novels and short stories that combine relatable characters with fantastic sci-fi adventures. I'm from Rhode Island (USA) I'm married and I have Aspergers.
What is the name of the book or books you have published?
The Inter-Terrestrial, The Tattler, The Exoskeleton Chronicles, Working-Class Superheroes, and Veganarchy. All of these books, except for Veganarchy, have at least one sequel (11 books altogether) and will be a trilogy when I am done. Veganarchy is a one-shot, no sequels.
Where can they be found?
My official website turtlerocketbooks.com, Amazon and Smashwords.
Do you have any current WIPs?
I am working on the third book in the Tattler series called The Tattler: Cancelled.
How are they going?
Great! I have a strong rough draft that I'm excited about.
What got you into writing?
Being bored in a high school study hall twenty years ago and writing a crazy story about Godzilla style monsters to make this kid laugh.
What keeps you focused?
Good question. I have to struggle to focus, but as long as I'm not ridiculously tired, I manage.
What gives you inspiration?
The world around me. Things I have something to say about or want to goof on.
How do you battle writer’s block?
By stepping away from writing until something in real life inspires me.
Did you decide on traditional or self publishing?
Self-publishing.
What made you make that choice?
To have the creative freedom necessary to merge the four trilogies I intend to write (and Veganarchy) into a literary sci-fi multiverse with the fourth Tattler book. 14 books altogether.
How does it feel to be considered an author?
Great. I love telling stories.
What’s your social media platforms for people to find you?
Turtle Rocket Books on Facebook and Instagram. @turtlerocketbks on Twitter
