October Day Three

“What’s wrong with you?” Jonathan asked as he looked over at his brother, Justin, who had been staring up at the ceiling for the past fifteen minutes straight.

“…What?” Justin finally responded as he stretched out and looked over at Jonathan.

“What do you mean what? You’ve been silent since you got home from school, and staring at the ceiling like it’s going to give you an epiphany.” Jonathan said as he shook his head at him.

“I’m going to break up with April before this weekend. I’m just trying to figure out when and how.”

Jonathan stared, confused as to what the actual problem or difficulty was. “Just do it. You don’t need to think up a way.”

“I do when the reason I’m breaking up with her is so I can go out with Candi Friday without guilt trips or being called a cheater.” Justin said roughly as he sat up, and rubbed his face with a sigh.

“…Uh yeah, if you’ve already asked a girl out, you’re a cheater… Idiot.” Jonathan said simply.

“Whatever. I don’t really care, April’s just not a good pick for me, and after dating her I see that.” Justin said as he looked down at his beeping phone. He ignored the text message from April he received.

“You mean you haven’t screwed her so she isn’t worth your time.”

“That too.” Justin admitted guilt free.

“Wow… and here I thought I was the douchebag in the family.”

“You are… I guess I’m just the bad guy for wanting to date an easier chick.”

“Well, Candi is definitely the easiest. I’m pretty sure half the schools got with that.” Jonathan said as he changed the channel. “Lindsey has told me quite a bit about her.”

Justin shrugged with a sly grin. “Probably, but I’m not looking for a relationship… I don’t enjoy just one girl.”

“Well, good luck with that.” Jonathan said simply as he tossed the remote to Justin before he got up and left the room.

Justin sighed as he pulled his phone back out, and opened the text from April.

Hey. Sorry I have been so busy since school started. How about tomorrow we go see a movie together? :)

Justin groaned as he glared at his phone. “There’s no way she knows…” He mumbled to himself before he texted her back. No… I’m busy, sorry. After pressing send he got up to go take a shower as he ignored her calls and texts for the rest of the night.
