“Guess who I talked to last night…” Candi whispered after she nudged Becca’s arm, the two now ignored the yelling preacher that was behind the pulpit.
Candi couldn’t help the grin that curved her over glossed lips as she nodded her head a bit towards the general direction of where Justin and April sat.
“No, stupid… Justin.” She whispered with a grin.
Becca just stared for a moment before shaking her head. “He’s dating April, why are you two talking. I know you, you don’t have guy friends; you just talk to guys to get with them.”
“I don’t care, it’s true and you know it. Do you not have any shame??”
“Not even a little bit.” Candi said with a shrug as she looked back at Becca with her disapproving glance. “Look, I didn’t flirt a lot. We mostly just talked about how he isn’t happy with April anymore. I mean come on, the girl doesn’t even put out for him, and tell him she’d rather study than go out. How lame of a person do you have to be… Seriously.”
“He knew she was an honors student before they dated, and knew how she was. It’s his fault if he got into something he doesn’t like… Plus, he could just break up with her instead of being so whiny about it for attention from other chicks.” Becca said as she gave a roll of the eyes at Candi.
“Oh well… From what he said last night, he’s going to be breaking up with her, and asked me out for next weekend…” Candi nearly beamed as she admitted this. “So obviously he’ll be doing it sometime this week.”
Becca just stared at the blonde before she shook her head and looked back at the preacher that now read from a passage she didn’t even bother to look for. “I can’t believe the two of you… Especially you. Justin I can see doing this, he’s always been a jerk in my opinion and too cocky for his own good, but you… April’s your friend… Kinda makes you a real-” Becca just stopped talking. She didn't want to be rude.
“Oh please say it… I already know you think I’m a slut for it.”
“You said it not me, but yes I do think you’re being a manipulative brat and a crappy friend… We all know you’ve had a crush on him since freshman year.”
“Exactly, so you can’t say that I’m the bad friend. April shouldn’t have even agreed to date him in the first place.”
“Whatever… Hope it’s worth it.” Becca said simply as the service was dismissed, which left Candi alone as she left.
